The Oscar Project
There is only one major release this weekend and a slew of smaller films. Don't look for much in the way of nominations coming out of this crop though. Next week promises to be much better overall.

The Oscar nominations were officially announced this morning and to get things started, I've put up a list of polls below where you can vote for your choice for each category. The polls are listed in the order the categories were handed out at last year's Oscar ceremony and each category has the nominated films listed in alphabetical order to try and eliminate any bias on my part. Find the full list of nominations on the Oscar.com website and look for summaries of each category coming soon! The Oscar nominations were announced early Tuesday morning and there are already a few noticeable surprises along with a few snubs. The Favourite and Roma led the way with 10 nominations each, followed by A Star is Born and Vice with 8 and Black Panther with 7. In this post, I list out all of the nominees with no real outlook on who will win. I also look back on my prediction posts to see how close I came to picking the right nominees (I think I did pretty well with most of the categories. Keep your eyes here over the coming days for more Oscar coverage including the opportunity to vote for who you think will take home the statuettes in February!
It's time for the announcement of the Oscar nominations on Tuesday morning, January 22nd, starting at 8:20 AM (Eastern). You can watch the nominations live using the player below. Please join me and look for polls where you can vote on who you think will win right here on The Oscar Project!
We're almost to the top prize and the names are all ones you are familiar with from my previous prediction posts. One of these films will likely be the one that receives the most nominations and Best Director will just be another feather in its cap. There will be one more post today for Best Picture and then look for the nominations coming tomorrow morning. You can watch the nominations right here on The Oscar Project. We made it to the final prediction post for the 2018 Oscars. If you missed any of the other posts, please check them out listed below.
We've reached the end of the line for nomination predictions. In less than 24 hours, we will know who the nominees are (and how close I came to getting them right). I have two more posts coming today, Best Director and Best Picture so look for those later in the day. And while you're here, check out all the prediction posts I've done so far. We're finally getting to some of the big categories here with my predictions of Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Adapted Screenplay. Don't forget to check out the previous prediction posts in my series to see all of my predictions and look for the last few posts with the Best Actress/Actor, Best Director, and Best Picture categories on Monday. I have to say, these have become some of my favorite categories the more attention I've paid to the Oscars over the last few years. They are so often over looked, but often provide some incredible films contained in very small packages. Today I am predicting the nominees for Best Animated Short Film, Best Documentary Short Film, and Best Live Action Short Film. Please go back and check the previous posts I've done earlier in the week and look for the last few posts coming tomorrow and Monday before the announcement of the nominees on Tuesday morning! Happy Friday and thank you for coming back for the latest in Oscar Nomination predictions. Today I am looking at several special categories of feature films: Best Foreign Language Film, Best Animated Feature Film, and Best Documentary Feature Film. Again, if you missed any of the previous posts, please check them out. So far I've posted on: |
